Amanda Brugel

(February 27 2010 - Toronto ON) Pointe Claire is a secluded community in that part of the island of Montreal known as"the West Island. This part of Montreal is known as the West Island has a lot of communities. Many who've never known about it may confuse it with a separate, west-facing island. Many times, it is credited as the location of birth of Amanda Brugel but while that is true, her stay in the city was brief. Brugel grew on Courtice located just outside Oshawa within Ontario. She had a dream to dance but a growth spurt meant that she literally outgrew the dancers she was with. In an article in The Toronto Star she admitted In heels, I'm 6 feet one inch. When I surpassed any male partner and stopped dancing, I quit. A lot of dancers go from dancing to acting. In the case of the Brugel family, it was their drama instructor who pushed her into this path. The teacher who suggested she go after a role in the annual school production. She was chosen to play the principal part for Anne of Green Gables after she had a go at. Following her award of the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship, she enrolled in York University and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in 2000. Since then, Brugel's been performing in over 60 plays, big and small. Most notable was when she landed the role of Rita on The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel was only seen on a few instances in the initial season of The Handmaid's Tale. The only Canadian member.
